Below is an article here in Wichita regarding the Federal Gas Tax’s expiration date of September 30. It will be a devastating blow to the construction industry not only in Kansas but most other states as well. It won’t be felt initially but if a new program isn’t initiated in the next few months, many new projects in Kansas will go away entirely and the State will re-shift its focus to system preservation. If you support the Federal Gas Tax in any form, make sure to inform your local, state and federal politicians and inform them of how critical infrastructure investment is to the nation’s economy and our ability to pull out of this recession.
